Headstock Festival 2011- The Review
Written by Tommy Evans

headstock-festival-2011The mines in Newstead don’t see much life nowadays...

Until Headstock swings by to lighten up the countryside with all sorts of mixed genres of music and interesting characters.

To start the Friday off, Craig Charles made an appearance, busting out his remixes of famous songs such as Rage Against the Machines single ‘Killing In The Name Of’ which nearly had all of Headstock come to listen in pleasure. The energy was exploding in the audience, especially with Craig as he jumped, fist pumped and danced around the stage. Besides a few technical sound difficulties, the Friday was a great kick off and Craig Charles continued to play into the early hours of Saturday morning. 8/10.

Kendal Calling 2011 The Review
Written by Simon Robinson

kendal_calling-465x225Kendal Calling, now in its 6th year, is Cumbria’s premier music festival. Having attended Kendal since the early days I have watched it grow into the success that it is today. Although Kendal Calling has grown in size somewhat it still maintains its independent vibe that festivals of the same size have lost over the years.

Kendal Calling won Best Small Festival at the UK Festival Awards last year and I was curious to see if it was going to live up to the title in 2011.
