The album ‘In Gold Blood’ is a story, of a man and a woman surrounded by chaos and madness that start a journey hoping to escape it all. They wander, they learn and they eventually find the reality and the answers they were looking for. At the end only the man remains, a scarred survivor, his companion no longer by his side and his future uncertain. “The two main characters live in a world where people celebrate nothing but destroying each other and they can’t understand why,” Aled (vocals) explains. “They are caught between different systems and beliefs at war with each other and the album is their attempt to find a way through that. There are plenty of negative sentiments but there is an optimism in the songs too, they might not make it through together but they do come out the other side.” “Diamond Days is the point in the story where the two characters realise that the only way to improve or change their situation is to go out and do it themselves. Find their own answers. It walks the line between the fear and exhilaration of the unknown. The words aren't too cryptic and it's quite a clean narrative that discusses their unity and their determination to reach a goal, regardless of the consequences or struggles.” The music video for the track has taken the narrative of the song and played it out in a stunning video, with cameo roles by the band and the focus being on the couple that the song mentions. It was directed by Steve Glashier who has created videos for label mates REVOKER and JULIETTE LEWIS as well as Nerina Pallot, Fatboy Slim, Blood Red Shoes and more. It was shot in East London you can watch the video below
